Student Council
Student Council is an organization conducted by students and supervised by Mrs. Foster and Mr. Kirkton. The purpose of Student Council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, Student Council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests, and concerns with the school wide community.
Student Council prepares and participates in multiple events each year. The big three are:
- Homecoming Week—Student Council plans spirit activities that take place during this week. These include the homecoming parade, spirit days, Irish games, and decorating for the dance.
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Carnation Sales—Each February, Student Council raises funds for Cystic Fibrosis by selling carnations to the student body and staff.
- Post Prom celebrations—Student Council plans the Post Prom festivities each year. Traditionally, we host Post Prom at Echo Lanes bowling alley in Morris, Illinois. The students play laser tag, bowl, and play games of chance. Every participant goes home with a prize valued at $25 (average).
