Job Openings at Seneca High School
There are three openings for the 2025-2026 school year. We are in search of a Technology/Lead Operator, and a Math and Science Instructor for the coming new school year.
Opening #1: Technology/Lead Operator
Seneca High School is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Communications Director, specializing in overseeing all district communications, website maintenance, social media platform management, as well as in-game gymnasium experience operations.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, who welcomes student activity, possessing outstanding character with strong interpersonal, organizational, collaborative, and technological skills.
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience, with a bachelor's degree in public relations, athletics management, communications, or marketing.
This is a salaried position with expectations of a 10-month contract, in-person in-game management of all varsity home contests, as well as coordination with the Administrative Cabinet for all district communications. Salary and benefits will be negotiated with the final candidate. The minimum starting wage, based upon experience and education will be $51,500, with Board of Education paid single health insurance premiums.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Build and maintain a consistent and uniform social media presence, representing the district, across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, etc.) including district initiatives such as Success at SHS, Students of the Month, Hilight, RISE, Athlete of the Week, etc.

Document daily classroom and extracurricular activities to showcase school content

Use and maintain graphic design and other software to showcase school content

Update and maintain school district website and application platforms, as well coordinate with IT Department on digital signage inside and outside of the facilities

Operate audio and visual technology during all Seneca High School home events including, but not limited to school assemblies, graduation, and athletic events

Assist Broadcast Journalism teacher in the classroom and provide students with opportunities for career practicum in broadcasting

Act as district liaison for biannual school district newsletter to community
-
Work with potential event sponsors to create advertisements during school sponsored events and activities

Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members and community leaders.

Assist Administration and IT teams in strategic planning, increasing stakeholder engagement, and promoting the Seneca Way and Irish Pride as deemed necessary by the Superintendent

Collaborate with Superintendent, District Office, Main Office, and other staff for District communication needs

Ensure all signage, letterhead, and other marketing materials across the District are current and in line with school branding

Collaborate with Administration during emergency and crisis situations regarding internal and external communications such as school safety concerns or severe weather announcements

Assist other District employees with planning and executing special events and programs

Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with communication technologies

Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Opening #2: Math Department
Seneca High School, a certified "GREAT PLACE TO WORK," is seeking for its Mathematics department an honest, highly-competent, caring, reliable, self-motivated, flexible, and collaborative instructor who regularly goes above and beyond her/his duties. Candidates must hold a valid, registered Illinois professional educator license with a content specific endorsement in Mathematics and an endorsement in HS- Grade 9 through Grade 12. The ideal candidate will build a program of excellence by crafting lessons where students are actively participating in challenging tasks to develop cognitive skills through reflective thought, analysis, problem-solving, evaluation, or creativity and where students apply core knowledge, concepts, or skills to solve real-world problems characteristic of its discipline. The teacher utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of diverse learners. A respectful and safe learning environment reflecting the district’s core values, the classroom should imitate a lab-like setting.
Seneca High School offers dual credit courses. As such, candidates will have an opportunity to teach, and/or grow into a Dual Credit Certified instructor.
There are extra-duties (athletic or club sponsorship) opportunities.

Opening #3: Science Department
High School Science Teacher Needed.
