Sangston, Officer Ken
School Resource Officer
Officer Ken Sangston has over 30 years of law enforcement experience. He has held the rank of Patrol Sergeant, Lieutenant, and most recently, Captain. He has performed various assignments throughout his career including Detective, Crime Scene Technician, Entry Team Operator, and Emergency Management Coordinator. He retired from his previous department in July 2018 as Captain to join the Seneca Police Department and become the School Resource Officer and Campus Safety DIrector at Seneca Township High School. He attended Joliet Junior College and is a 1992 graduate of Lincoln Land Police Training Center, Springfield Illinois. He is a NASRO certified Advanced School Resource Officer and an A.L.I.C.E. Instructor. He believes that all his diverse experiences in law enforcement has led him to be the School Resource Officer at SHS. Ofc. Sangston enjoys being part of the high school culture, helping students, speaking in the classroom, and providing a safe and secure campus. Ken and his wife Jennifer have three grown children, all graduates of SHS. He has been an Asst. Wrestling Coach and an Asst. JV and Varsity Football Coach since coming to SHS. In his spare time he enjoys running and being active. He has run in several marathons, half marathons, and many 5Ks.
